To: Members of PSP Committee From: Ed Wallace, PSP Nat'l Ch. Jamie Gaffney met with the Rector and Vice Rector of the Seminary Josephinum in Columbus, OH on Monday. Jamie found out there are six (6) displaced seminarians from Louisiana and not ten (10) as was previously thought. After informing the heads of the Seminary as to the wishes of the AOH/LAOH Project St. Patrick Committee donating money directly to the seminarians (through the HDRE), they finally agreed to our wishes and would not insist on controlling the money and "dishing it out." So we are ready to assist these 6 displaced seminarians now with check for $1000 each with a cover letter that states who it is from, and what it is to be used for: books, clothing, winter clothing, personal items, gas money (?), travel expenses over holidays, etc. (basically vocational needs) and not to be squandered or given to institution or diocese. I will send cover letter so stating (from PSP Committee) and Ned will send each a check from HDRE account with his letter and who money is from. I will ask each seminarian to send an individual or group (6) picture asap so we can put in HD with write-up. This addition donation this year of $6000 will bring the total monies donated from Project St. Patrick since 1996 to $99,000. This is something we as Hibernians can all be proud of and considering the long-range good that these dollars will do for not only the individuals but our Church. Thank you for your efforts in promoting vocations through Project St. Patrick. Ed P.S. If there are any questions don't hesitate to ask. .
